Fishing

The Kleine Jasmunder Bodden and the Große Jasmunder Bodden are  ideal fishing grounds for catching pike, zander, perch and flounder. Popular spots to fish are by the dam in the Großer Bodden and in the Kleiner Jasmunder Bodden in the direction of Mukran. You will need waders. Parking is possible in the car park as you enter Lietzow at the end of the dam.

Just past the Bücherbahnhof (across the railway line by the car park and left along Spitzer Ort), there is a slipway into the Kleine Jasmunder Bodden for small boats. Motorboats need a special permit to be allowed in the Kleiner Jasmunder Bodden. An alternative option is the slipway at the sailing harbour at Martinshafen, which is between Lietzow and Sagard.

The best fishing season for pike is between May and February, for perch April to October, for flatfish August to November. Anglers must observe regulations regarding minimum sizes and closed seasons, and stay clear of the spawning area at the harbour and the lock!

In addition to the federal fishing licence, you need a fishing permit for coastal waters, issued by specialist fishing shops or on guided tours. Visitors can acquire a temporary fishing licence from the municipal office in Bergen. For more information download this bilingual brochure.
